After we had a chance to review Jo's personal effects and papers, it became clear to us that Jo did not wish to have a public memorial service. We have decided to honor her wishes, and will not be holding a public memorial. Jo's decline was so quick, we didn't have a chance to talk about her wishes. It also took us a while to clear the fog, to know just how we felt as well. There will be a private family burial in Iowa this fall. We want to thank everyone who reached out and expressed their thoughts and memories of Jo, or who donated to the Gathering in her name, we really appreciate it. We would like to hear from all of you and we want to encourage small gatherings, coffee dates, or messages from those of you who want get together to share a memory, a story, or a hug.
